Amdocs Receives Highest Possible Rating in BSS from Leading Analyst Firm

February 25, 2009

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Amdocs (NYSE: DOX), the leading provider of customer experience systems, today announced that Amdocs received the highest possible rating of “Very Strong” from Gartner in its business support systems (BSS) vendor evaluation. This was reported in the Gartner(1) Dataquest report published in December 2008 titled, “Dataquest Insight: Business Support System Market Overview and Strategic Scorecard for Vendors, 2008.”

The report concludes that: “BSS vendors will differentiate themselves by their ability to support carrier innovation, customize their products and integrate them within a carrier’s technology stack, either using their own professional services divisions or in conjunction with carriers’ Information Technology (IT) departments and systems integrators.”

“Amdocs has the most integrated and innovative BSS portfolio available today,” said Michael Couture, head of Global Marketing at Amdocs. “Combined with our leading managed services, systems integration and consulting expertise, Amdocs is allowing its customers to reduce operational costs, while still driving innovation to maintain a leadership position in the market.”

Amdocs’ products are installed by most of the world’s leading fixed, mobile and cable service providers. Most recently at Mobile World Congress 2009, Amdocs announced the general availability of the company’s newest product for Intelligent Networks (IN)-based, real-time, convergent charging – Amdocs CES – Charging 7.5T. Based on a new rating technology, it provides a single architecture for real-time charging across any network, service or payment type and offers these large providers the ability to consolidate their BSS systems onto a single platform that can support all of their lines of business.

Amdocs Charging 7.5T is certified on low-cost blade servers to support massive subscriber and event growth and reduce the need for significant hardware investment. Amdocs’ internal benchmarking tests estimate that this new technology can deliver up to 700 percent performance improvements in rating and charging. In addition, its performance over low-cost servers can reduce up to 70 percent of charging hardware and software costs.

Amdocs is also gaining rapid traction with its productized offerings such as the Amdocs Billing Start Pack which incorporates pre-integrated products, out-of-the-box functionality, best practice business processes and implementation services for rapid and cost-efficient deployment of BSS systems and introduction of new market offerings; and the Amdocs Compact Convergence Suite for service delivery and convergent real-time charging. Amdocs was also the first to introduce an On-Demand offering for service delivery and convergent real-time charging – Amdocs Compact Convergence On Demand.
