Deltacom Expands Ethernet Portfolio With Additional Access Options for Customers in the Southeast

Posted on: Monday, 2 March 2009, 08:00 CST

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ITC^DeltaCom, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ITCD.OB), a leading provider of integrated communications services to customers in the southeastern United States, today announced the expansion of its Ethernet portfolio with the addition of native Ethernet access.

The company now offers Ethernet access (E-access) to its INET(SM) service, Deltacom's dedicated Internet solution for retail business customers. The service is guaranteed in fixed bandwidth increments ranging from 2Mbps to 100Mbps and can include burstable options. E-access to INET is currently available in the following Deltacom markets: Birmingham, Huntsville and Montgomery, AL; Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando and West Palm Beach, FL; Atlanta, GA; Biloxi, Gulfport and Jackson, MS; Greensboro and Raleigh, NC; Columbia, SC; and Nashville, TN. The company plans to extend the service to additional markets later this year.

E-access also provides Deltacom's enterprise business customers and its Interstate FiberNet carrier customers with additional Ethernet access options to dedicated Internet and Ethernet Private Line services. E-access complements Deltacom's CPE-based Ethernet access service that utilizes managed equipment deployed at the customer's premise to deliver Ethernet access in locations where native Ethernet access is not available.

"Ethernet is rapidly becoming the technology of choice for many of our business and carrier customers," said Tony Tomae, Deltacom's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "We are committed to the continued expansion of our Ethernet capabilities to deliver the robust service options that meet our customer's business demands."
