Software Provider Announces a National Plan to Assist United Way Organizations: A Response to Tough U.S. Economic Climate

Posted on: Wednesday, 4 March 2009, 11:48 CST

AUSTIN, Texas, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- (www.communitytech.net) -- An Austin-based technology company, Community TechKnowledge, Inc. (CTK), today announced a major initiative to help challenged United Way organizations across the US: the United Way Opportunity Program.

Details of the program call for waiving the activation and set-up fees (averaging about $15,000 per organization) for any United Way purchasing CTK's Community Impact ODM (CI ODM) software before July 31, 2009. With approximately 1,200 individual United Ways across the country, the Opportunity Program could represent a giveaway of over $7 million.

The CI ODM is a grant application, allocation, volunteer and funding impact management tool designed specifically for all sizes of United Way organizations.

Citing reports that individual and corporate donations to charities are substantially down, CTK moved to proactively partner with new United Way customers to create opportunity. In a recent letter to United Way colleagues, Senior VP of United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona, Dan Duncan said: "...as user of CTK's Community Impact Online Data Manager for more than five years, I am glad to tell you about this extraordinary opportunity for United Way organizations. It provides an unprecedented chance for United Ways to easily acquire mission-critical technology tools."

Kathryn Engelhardt-Cronk, President and CEO of Community TechKnowledge said: "With more than 40 United Ways currently on our roster, we have a long, collaborative history with United Way organizations; a history that focuses on maximizing each United Way's capacity while minimizing their infrastructure costs. The UW Opportunity Program is a natural extension of our close relationship with United Ways and our company is fortunate to be in a position to make this offer to any United Way organization that wishes to join our growing customer group."
