Chelsio Adds Unified Wire Adapters to the Expanding Mac OS X Ecosystem

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire/ — Chelsio Communications, Inc., the leading provider of 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) adapters and ASIC solutions, today announced availability of its first software driver for Apple’s Mac OS X operating systems, bringing the high performance of Chelsio’s Unified Wire adapters to the rapidly growing Mac OS X-based enterprise data centers.

The multi-function NIC driver, which supports Mac OS X version 10.5.2 and above, is available today from Chelsio and its distributors. Support for EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) and additional components of the Unified Wire (offloaded iSCSI initiator and iWARP RDMA) will be supported in update releases later this year.
