Establishes Central American Office and Hires Industry Veteran Juan Carlos Abascal

[Nasdaq: ARBX], a leading provider of international voice and innovative IP solutions, today announces at Capacity LATAM 2009, a Latin American wholesale telecommunications congress, that the company has increased its presence in the Latin American marketplace by opening a sales and business development office in Guatemala City.

The opening of a Central American sales and business development office is a direct reflection of the importance that Arbinet places on the continued development of relationships with carriers and service providers in the region. In recent years, Latin America experienced the fastest growth in incoming traffic of any region globally, averaging a compound annual rate of growth of 25% from 2002-2007.(1)

To support its new market presence, Arbinet has hired Juan Carlos Abascal, as Director, Central America Sales.
