"Combining virtual experiences with hands-on learning offers teachers a complete science solution for their students," said Dr.
With the launch of the PASCO Online Academy for Science and Math, teachers now have access to hundreds of high-quality, standards-based Activity Objects from Adaptive Curriculum. The PASCO Online Academy for Science and Math is a web-based virtual environment that offers teachers and students access to 21st century science and math content, anytime, anywhere. Combining conceptual learning with state-of-the-art visualization, Activity Objects offer teachers an interactive way to introduce new topics or reinforce difficult concepts. Through Adaptive Curriculum students can participate in virtual experiments, scientific inquiry exercises and problem-based learning.
"The partnership between PASCO and Sebit, LLC, enables the PASCO Online Academy for Science and Math to provide educators access to superior content from a provider that continues to break new ground," said PASCO's Chief Education Officer
Adaptive Curriculum Activity Objects may be adapted for various classroom scenarios. Teachers can use the interactive content as part of a classroom presentation with a projector or through an interactive whiteboard. Including both animation and interactive parts, Activity Objects can be paused to allow teachers to ask questions or to emphasize specific points during a presentation. Activity Objects can also be given to students for homework or extra practice, or to challenge students with advanced skills.
In addition to providing science and math instruction, Adaptive Curriculum offers teachers several ways to track student progress. At the conclusion of many Activity Objects, students are asked to complete an online assessment section. This provides teachers with a student-by-student view of responses they can use to check for comprehension. Other Activity Objects include Activity Sheets, which can be used as handouts or assigned as homework. Teachers can use this valuable assessment data to assign Activity Objects based upon each student's needs and abilities.
PASCO Online Academy in Science and Math is offered as an annual subscription, which provides online access to the entire library of the Adaptive Curriculum Activity Objects. For more information regarding licensing options, or to sign up for a free 30-day trial, visit www.pasco.com/onlineacademy.
