Norman Public Schools Selects Infinite Campus for Its Student Information System

Posted on: Monday, 23 March 2009, 06:00 CDT

BLAINE, Minn., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Norman Public Schools (Oklahoma) selected Infinite Campus as its district-wide student information system (SIS). It will be implementing the Infinite Campus District Edition, a comprehensive, web-based system that streamlines administrative processes and provides secure, real-time access to data.

"Providing real-time communication to parents was a top criterion when searching for a new SIS," said Christy Fisher, Norman Public Schools' Data Processing Manager. "Infinite Campus provided us the best portal solution that will give our parents access to their student's attendance, assignments, grade information and more."

Norman Public Schools wanted flexibility in creating custom data fields and it found that within Infinite Campus a custom field can be created for what the school/district wants to track. Districts can attach district-defined forms or create their own blank forms if necessary.

"We also wanted software with the ability to help us evaluate assessment data," said Fisher. "Infinite Campus has an assessment tool that can be used seamlessly with our data. It also has the ability to include local assessments and ad hoc reporting for specialized analysis."

Several administrators were able to meet Charlie Kratsch, Infinite Campus Founder and CEO, as well as visit with other Infinite Campus customers. They were very pleased with the dedication of the company to a single product.

"We are pleased Norman Public Schools chose Infinite Campus," said Steve Rutledge, Infinite Campus Regional Sales Manager. "The single-data entry will save time and ensure improved data accuracy. The ability to import, store and analyze the endless amount of assessment data will help them make better decisions. And the integrated, web-based communication tools will be a tremendous asset for parents, students and administrators."

Norman Public Schools serves 14,000 students, and will go live late summer 2009.
