SEPTA Track & Signal Project to Impact Weekend Train Service

PHILADELPHIA, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- SEPTA will begin Phase II of an extensive track and signal improvement project on the railroad corridor between Wayne Junction and Glenside Stations that will impact weekend travel on several SEPTA regional rail routes beginning Friday, July 8.
SEPTA will install a new communication and signal system as well as track switches along the busy railroad corridor during the project.
Weekend service on regional rail Routes R1 Airport, R2 Warminster, R3 West Trenton, R5 Lansdale-Doylestown and R8 Fox Chase will be affected throughout the summer as a result of the project.
*R1 Airport * Shuttle buses will substitute for train service between Wayne Junction and Glenside Stations and make stops at intermediate stations. Outbound riders will transfer to waiting shuttle buses at Wayne Junction. * Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings (July 8, 9, and 10) -- the last outbound R1 (to Glenside) train scheduled to leave Suburban Station at 12:35 a.m. will operate with shuttle buses between Wayne Junction and Glenside Stations. * Saturday, Sunday, Monday mornings (July 9, 10, and 11) -- shuttle buses will operate in place of the first inbound (to the airport) train regularly scheduled to leave Fern Rock Transportation Center at 4:08 a.m. Buses will leave Fern Rock 13 minutes earlier (at 3:55 a.m.) than scheduled to connect with regular R1 train service at Wayne Junction. *R2 Warminster * Shuttle buses will substitute for train service between Wayne Junction and Glenside Stations and make stops at intermediate stations. * Inbound R2 trains will leave Warminster at 18 minutes after the hour between 6:18 a.m. and 9:18 p.m., with the last train leaving at 10:03 p.m. *R3 West Trenton * Shuttle buses will substitute for train service between Wayne Junction and Noble Stations and make stops at intermediate stations. * Inbound R3 trains will leave West Trenton at 28 minutes after the hour between 5:28 a.m. and 9:28 p.m., with the last train leaving at 10:58 p.m. Outbound riders will transfer to waiting shuttle buses at Wayne Junction. *R5 Lansdale-Doylestown * Shuttle buses will substitute for train service between Wayne Junction and Glenside Stations and make stops at intermediate stations. * Inbound R5 trains will leave Doylestown at 42 minutes after the hour between 5:42 a.m. and 9:42 p.m., with the last train leaving at 10:53 p.m. *R8 Fox Chase * Shuttle buses will substitute for train service between Wayne Junction and Fox Chase Stations and make stops at intermediate stations.
