Magneti Marelli selects Sierra Wireless embedded modules for telematics product

VANCOUVER, March 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Sierra Wireless (NASDAQ: SWIR - TSX: SW) today announced that Magneti Marelli has selected Sierra Wireless mobile broadband embedded modules with EMConnect(TM) firmware features for integration into its telematics products developed for safety, entertainment and satellite navigation applications. Magneti Marelli's telematics product offering with the integrated Sierra Wireless MC5727V embedded module is now available to Ford customers as part of the Ford Work Solutions system, providing high-speed internet access, location based services, and fleet tracking and management capabilities.

Magneti Marelli, as a broad range automotive supplier, has operated in the field of telematics and satellite navigation since the early 1990s, and boasts a complete and scalable range of telematic products. Magneti Marelli's offering, with integrated Sierra Wireless embedded modules and EMConnect firmware features, enables a wide range of applications, such as the distribution of real-time traffic information and location based services, as well as fleet tracking and management.
