SHENZHEN, China, March 30 /PRNewswire-Asia/ — EVOC Group, a
high-tech enterprise in Shenzhen announced that on March 27, the company’s
General Manager, Sun Wei, signed a Joint Declaration of Economic Cooperation
with the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, officially establishing the
bilateral partnership for science and technology projects.

During a special trip to China, Ms. Christa Thoben, Minister of Economic
Affairs and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia visited the
headquarters of EVOC Group accompanied by Schuppius, the Consul General of
Germany Consulate General in Guangzhou. Following the Joint Declaration, EVOC
Group will set up its German headquarters in Dusseldorf in April 2009, and
also establish technical and service centers in other parts of Germany or
Europe. After that, the two sides will continue to communicate on many
cooperation possibilities, such as, science and technology projects and human
resources exchange.

After the signing ceremony, the North Rhine-Westphalia delegation visited
the EVOC Showroom and R&D center located in the EVOC Technology Building,
accompanied by some leaders of EVOC Group. Some officials from Shenzhen
Government also attended the conference, made positive remarks on EVOC Group’s
development, and gave their fervent expectations for the cooperation.

In early 2009, A Chinese business delegation, led by Commerce Minister

Chen Deming, signed a total of 37 procurement deals worth around 11 billion
Euros
(14 billion U.S. dollars) with German companies. This action greatly
boosted the Germany and other European countries’ faith in the Chinese economy
and the strength of Chinese enterprises. More and more people from Europe are
coming to China for business opportunities. As a state ranking 7th by GDP in
the world, North Rhine-Westphalia always focuses on the international exchange
and cooperation among international high-tech industries. In recent years,
North Rhine-Westphalia has become a particularly favored region for Chinese
enterprises in making investments in Europe, especially those in the Guangdong
Province
. Among them, Huawei, ZTE and Midea have already set up branches or
subsidiaries in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Founded in 1993 and based in Shenzhen, China, EVOC Group is a high-tech
enterprise engaged in the development, production, sales and system
integration of embedded and industrial computing products. Since its
establishment, EVOC has managed to stand out among all other competitors via
self-innovation and structure adjustment. Currently, EVOC is the market leader
in the Chinese IPC industry, ranking among top three in global IPC market.
Despite the adverse affect of the financial crisis, EVOC Group has maintained
a 170% growth in the overseas market. The trend-bucking success of EVOC is
also one of the most attractive elements appreciated by the visitors of North
Rhine-Westphalia. This visit also marks the first official cooperation between
the domestic IPC industry and the international market.

The domestic IPC market has been growing rapidly in recent years. The boom
of the communications industry of China has catapulted the demands for
embedded and industrial computing products. In China, over 70% of the next
generation communication products will adopt embedded intelligent devices. In
the future, the IPC market is expected to grow by more than 20% each year,
much higher than the market of general-purpose PCs.

The IPC industry in China is basically keeping abreast of the latest
development in the world. At the same time, the sustained rapid development of
national economy of China has provided fantastic opportunities for the IPC
industry. The international IPC market is predicted to grow by 15%-20% each
year, while the domestic IPC market by 25%-33%. The domestic manufacturers
will have a market share of more than 50%. With a growing trend towards
automation and computerization in people’s work and daily life, the
application range of embedded and industrial computing products will become
wider and wider. For example, TCM and TVM in metro, ATM, etc.

With IPC technologies constantly evolving and upgrading, IPC products are
becoming increasingly important in people’s daily life. Therefore, it is an
inevitable choice for Chinese companies to become integrated into the global
market, communicate with international counterparts, and also keep their
technology up-to-date. The cooperation between North Rhine-Westphalia today
and EVOC is the best opportunity for a Chinese company to go global, which not
only brings in the state-of-the-art technology and investment, but also blazes
trail for China’s enterprises.

China used to rely on its low-cost labor force and relaxed restriction to
attract countless short-term foreign investments, but this kind of investment
is a feet of clay foot in the financial crisis. Nowadays, China has turned
from a country importing products and funds into one exporting technology and
cultures. Despite the financial crisis, the GDP of China still maintained an
8% growth, and many enterprises still made remarkable profits. With a thriving
economy amid a global economic downturn, China has captured the attention of
the world. Many foreign countries or regions now have a faith in China’s
economic prospect. Among them is the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Today, Ms. Christa Thoben, Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy of the
State of North Rhine-Westphalia signed a joint declaration with Sun Wei,
General Manager of EVOC Group. EVOC Group will set up its German headquarters
in Dusseldorf in April 2009, and also establish technical and service centers
in other parts of Germany or Europe. After that, the two sides will continue
to communicate on many cooperation possibilities, such as, science and
technology projects and human resources exchange.

The strategy of “Going Global, Bringing in” will continue in spite of the
financial crisis. The steady growth of China’s economy is attracting more and
more foreign people, who come to China to invite investments, and to see for
themselves the real Chinese economic situation.
