Massachusetts Man Convicted on Child Pornography Charge

WASHINGTON, April 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rudy Frabizio, 46, of Acton, Mass., was convicted today of possession of child pornography, announced Acting Assistant Attorney General Rita M. Glavin of the Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Michael J. Sullivan of the District of Massachusetts.

Frabizio was found guilty after a seven-day jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in Boston.

Evidence presented at trial by government prosecutors showed that the defendant stored images on an employer's computer of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Evidence also showed the defendant used the Internet to acquire images of child pornography.

Frabizio may face up to five years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 5, 2009.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood. Created in February 2006, Project Safe Childhood is a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse. Led by the U.S. Attorney's Offices, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as identify and rescue victims. The case is being prosecuted by Trial Attorney Michael Yoon of the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) and Assistant U.S. Attorney Angel Kelley Brown of the District of Massachusetts. The case is being investigated by the FBI. The forensic examination of the computer evidence in the case was conducted by CEOS' High Tech Investigative Unit.
