NII Holdings Selects Smith Micro Software for Its Premier Mobility Multimedia Suite Offering

Multimedia suite will be available to NII subscribers in Latin America

LAS VEGAS, April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CTIA Wireless 2009 -- Smith Micro Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI), a leading developer and marketer of mobility solutions and services for the wireless market, today announced that NII Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: NIHD), a leading provider of mobile communications for business customers in Latin America, would begin distributing a new multimedia application to manage music, photos and videos from a PC to its line up of Motorola iDEN devices. The new multimedia application will enable Nextel Argentina, Nextel Brazil, Nextel Mexico and Nextel Peru subscribers to manage their digital entertainment from their PC to their mobile phone.

Suite Multimedia de Nextel developed by Smith Micro will provide NII subscribers a better multimedia service at no extra cost. The solution enables NII subscribers the capability to transfer music, image and video files to and from their favorite Motorola device and to easily browse, organize and manage their multimedia library on their PC. The multimedia application feature-set has been tailored to support legacy Nextel multimedia phones along with the launch of new Nextel handsets, such as the i9, the thinnest iDEN clam style handset with multimedia resources.
