Seven States Fail to Make Full Online Disclosures in State Contracting

The survey identified the following features as ‘optimal disclosure’: full text versions of the state contract; spending summaries; the name and location of the contract recipient; the corporate parent of the recipient; the amount and period of the contract; the program and funding sources of the contract; the type of transaction and award title; and the place of performance. The survey analysis modeled the disclosures made by the federal government at http://www.USASpending.gov.
