NeuStar and Communology to Provide End-to-End Client/Server Solution for Mobile Instant Messaging

Partnership to Benefit European Mobile Network Operators

STERLING, Va., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NeuStar (NYSE: NSR) announced today that it has entered into a frame agreement with Communology, a leading solution provider of carrier-grade client applications and device testing, to develop a comprehensive client/server solution for mobile instant messaging (IM) on behalf of one of NeuStar's leading mobile network operator customers that operates in multiple countries across Europe.

Under the terms of the agreement, Communology will act as an official supplier to NeuStar's Next Generation Messaging (NGM) business area, assuming responsibility for the development of handset clients and for securing porting to various handsets. This will enable NeuStar NGM to focus even more intently on forging and strengthening customer relationships within its core managed mobile data services. The cooperation further proves the open use of the managed NeuStar IM platform being able to include best-of-breed products from companies such as Communology to increase ease of use and adoption.

The joint mobile IM solutions will enable access to MSN, Yahoo and ICQ IM networks. Phase 1 will include Java phones only; in the upcoming second phase, Symbian, Android and Windows Mobile phones will be supported. In the longer term, NeuStar and Communology will extend their collaboration to other customers, and will provide IM-related offerings such as rich content services and mobile social networking.
