ATCi Completes Advanced Cellular/Internet Communications System for Ninetel

Infrastructure Facilitates Communications between 5 North States of Brazil

WASHINGTON, April 2 /PRNewswire/ — NCTA Cable Show – Antenna Technology Communications Inc., a provider of commercial satellite communications systems, today announced at the Cable Show in Washington D.C. that with the collaboration of SES Newskies, the companies have installed an advanced cellular and internet communications satellite system for Ninetel Telecommunications, one the leading providers of broadband telephone services. Ninetel currently has subscribers that range from home users to multinationals. The new system will be used to carry phone and internet traffic allowing Ninetel to continue its growth and role as a major telecommunication competitor in the 5 North states of Brazil: Amazonas, Para, Rondonia, Roraima & Amapa.

Prior to the installation of the new satellite communications system, the provinces had only 2 operators, (Embratel and Oi), who provided Telephone and Internet. With the installation of the new ATCi system, Ninetel Telecomunicacoes da Amazonia, Ltda will now enter the market as a third option providing point-to-point, Internet, VoIP & telephone connectivity in the 5 North states of Brazil.
