54% of Americans Believe a Good Vocabulary is Crucial for Success; 44% Fake It When They Don't Know a Word's Meaning
The Dictionary.com app is the most comprehensive, up-to-date language resource available online, with more than 275,000 definitions and 80,000 synonyms. The free app also features audio pronunciations, similarly spelled words and Dictionary.com's popular Word of the Day, which is enjoyed by more than a million users.
A recent survey commissioned by Dictionary.com found 62% of Americans believe that having a good vocabulary is an indicator of intelligence, and 54% believe it's crucial for success, which likely explains why the survey also found that 44% of people fake it when they don't know a word's meaning in social or work situations.
