Xeround Wins Billing & OSS World Excellence Award for Best OSS Transformation for T-Mobile Project

Posted on: Wednesday, 15 April 2009, 07:00 CDT

Database Virtualization Solution Recognized as Innovative Leader in Telecommunications Industry

BELLEVUE, Wash., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Xeround, Inc., a provider of real-time database virtualization software, today announced that the Xeround Intelligent Data Grid(TM) has received the Billing & OSS World 2009 Excellence Award for Best Operational Support System (OSS) Transformation based on a project deployed by T-Mobile USA. The awards recognize the leaders -- vendors, service providers and integrators -- in the development and deployment of billing and OSS technologies and solutions.

Xeround was recognized specifically for a deployment by T-Mobile USA that delivered better integration among the company's systems. Xeround IDG's solution helps provide a greater ability to personalize the customer experience. The solution also allows faster deployment of features and helps maintain continuous operations across a company's geo-distributed footprint.

"Xeround's achievements were judged by a panel of experts as being exemplary among its peers," said Mike Saxby, Billing & OSS World group publisher. "Billing & OSS World is pleased to acknowledge Xeround as an example of excellence in OSS Transformation for the telecommunications industry."

"We're thrilled that Xeround was selected for this award," said Robert Strickland, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at T-Mobile USA. "T-Mobile has been recognized nationally for its world-class customer service. Our ability to deliver innovative technology solutions helps improve the customer experience."

Xeround IDG is the only database virtualization solution that unifies disparate data sources across multiple networks and lines of business so customers can reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and deliver new services to market faster. By leveraging concepts gleaned from grid computing and combining them with the promise of cloud computing, Xeround enables a scalable, real-time distributed architecture that allows companies to model, maintain and extend customer data. The technology also extends legacy data by virtualizing access to existing databases and directories, without the need to translate between common database languages.

"It is an honor for Xeround IDG to be recognized as a product of excellence by Billing & OSS World," said Charlotte Yarkoni, CEO, Xeround. "In listening to our customers and the needs of the telecommunications sector, we are striving to revolutionize the way data is managed and unified so that customers can bring new projects to market faster and at a lower cost. This award further validates that our products allow CSPs to reap the many benefits that database virtualization has to offer."

The Billing & OSS World 2009 Excellence Awards winners were selected by an independent judging panel that included Ari Banerjee, director, enabling technologies, Yankee Group; Dan Geiger, directing analyst, next-gen OSS and policy, Infonetics Research; Susan McNeice, global program manager, OSS/BSS global competitive strategies, Stratecast, a division of Frost & Sullivan; Dan O'Shea, editor, Fierce Telecom; Elisabeth Rainge, director, NGN operations, IDC; and members of the Billing & OSS World editorial team.

Xeround was honored at ceremonies held on Tuesday, April 14, at the Billing & OSS World 2009 Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. Winners will also be featured in an upcoming issue of Billing & OSS World magazine and on the companion Web site, www.billingworld.com.
