VAI Donates their Analytical Software to Mercyhurst College for Instructional Classroom Purposes

FREDERICK, Md., April 15 /PRNewswire/ — Visual Analytics Inc. (VAI) is pleased to announce that Mercyhurst College is the first educational institution to take part in VAI’s Collegiate Outreach Program.

VAI’s VisuaLinks(R) software will be used for instructional classroom purposes within the Mercyhurst College Institute for Intelligence Studies (MCIIS) beginning in the fall of the 2009-2010 academic year as part of a comprehensive program that teaches critical thinking and analysis skills.

“With the volume of intelligence analysis projects our students undertake each year, MCIIS represents a unique validating test bed for intelligence concepts, applications and software, and we welcome the opportunity to sample VAI’s technology,” said David J. Grabelski, director of the intelligence studies undergraduate program.

“We are pleased to have Mercyhurst College as one of our initial members in this outstanding academic offering,” states Christopher Westphal, CEO of Visual Analytics. “The donation of our software provides the MCIIS program with some of the world’s most cutting edge analytical and information sharing software. These students now have access to capabilities that represent the gold standard for addressing complex, interconnected, and dynamic problem spaces. This partnership will help prepare them to become the next generation of top analysts to ensure our homeland security.”

About the Collegiate Outreach Program

VAI offers their VisuaLinks(R) and Digital Information Gateway (DIG(R)) software to eligible colleges and universities for instructional classroom purposes. The software will aid in teaching analytical skills and critical thinking to students seeking careers in various fields, including but not limited to, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Computer Science, Intelligence Analysis, Information Technology and Homeland Security.

By extending a hand to educational institutes, Visual Analytics Inc. will be helping to train America’s future police officials, military personnel, and intelligence analysts. Students using VisuaLinks(R) and DIG(R) will have the unique opportunity to obtain high-level skills that are typically only learned once hired into professional positions — giving them an advantage over the competition and an inevitable path to career success.
