First System To Allow Global SMS Support And Serve Approx. 200,000 People Including University Students, Faculty, Staff, Public Officials and Surrounding Citizenry.
The deployment is believed to be the first of its kind to successfully integrate and serve both the campus population of a major university and the civilian populations and responders of its resident county through a common operating platform. It is also the first announced deployment of a university system that allows messaging to a broad array of cell phone types, email systems, landlines and hand-held devices, and interoperates with sirens, signage, beacons and other infrastructure systems using the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) standard.
