Tavant Technologies Introduces On-Demand Version of Warranty and Repair Management System With an Innovative Pricing Model

Posted on: Thursday, 23 April 2009, 16:45 CDT

Responds to market needs by offering transaction based pricing, rapid deployment, and minimal upfront investment

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Tavant Technologies, a leading provider of warranty chain management solution and IT services, today announced launch of its powerful Warranty and Repair Management (WRM) system in an on-demand model. It requires minimal upfront investment; customers would be charged a per-transaction fee after the system is fully operational. The new release has enhanced capabilities, such as support of fleet claims, better parts & labor capture and enhanced rules capability across the board apart from under-the-hood technical enhancements for better usability and robustness. It has a new extended service contract module that allows the buyer to customize and purchase the service contract online.

Tavant's fifth-generation warranty management platform allows companies to fully automate warranty claims processing end-to-end - including supplier recovery, parts management, extended warranty and service quality management. Tavant provides extensible rules and roles-based automated claims-adjudication process workflow to minimize processing cost.

As the global economic situation continues to be challenging, the demand for SaaS-styled software has started to increase as companies look to cut capital costs in favor of relying more on outsourced managed services.

"As valuable as warranty chain management systems can be, in this economic environment it's tough to get any manufacturer to commit to conventional, upfront investment in software," noted Warranty Week editor Eric Arnum. "A pay-as-you-go model is an ideal and low-cost way to get a company to upgrade to next generation software."

WRM's on-demand model addresses that need, and unlike conventional products has no additional installation and maintenance costs. Moreover, customers will benefit from regular upgrades of the product. Tavant, which is SAS 70 and ISO 27001 certified, hosts application for several customers and supports their SLA requirements with its 24x7 monitoring, support and hosting infrastructure.

"We have observed an increasing demand for SaaS model due to its cost-effectiveness, easier deployments and internal resource independence," said Anubhav Sudha, head of Service-Operations Practice at Tavant. "WRM has a multi-tier, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) that maximizes flexibility and removes platform and technology dependencies."

"Many of the prospects we have spoken to want to upgrade to the next generation solution platform, but find it challenging to commit to an upfront capital expenditure," said Hassan Rashid, Global Head of Sales & Marketing at Tavant. "With our innovative, minimal-upfront pricing model, we are making it easier for our customers to quickly deploy a best-in-class warranty system and benefit from real-time ROI."
