Telenor Global Services Implements Ascade's Routing Provisioning for NGN

STOCKHOLM, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Ascade, the global market-leader in advanced Routing & Trading, Billing and Quality solutions for the Interconnect market, today announced that, Telenor Global Services (TGS), the Oslo based global wholesale carrier, has decided to extend Carrier Cockpit(TM) Routing Provisioning module for the Next Generation Network (NGN). TGS has for several years used Carrier Cockpit(TM) as a central part of its advanced business decision and management environment. The decision to extend Carrier Cockpit(TM) Routing Provisioning into the NGN area is a result of growing volumes of voice traffic, increased business complexity and preparation of additional growth via VOIP.

With Ascade's Carrier Cockpit(TM) Routing Provisioning for NGN, TGS will further strengthen its end-to-end business process for wholesale and interconnect services by automating VOIP provisioning. Routing decisions for VOIP traffic will be instantly implemented, and TGS can thereby better benefit in respect to continuously changing market prices. The transition from TDM to VOIP will also be facilitated by the Routing Provisioning extension. Traffic from the two networks will be seamlessly managed, and TGS will be well prepared for the future dismantling of the TDM network.
