PROTEUS Announces new Vice President, Michael W. Kauffman

ANNAPOLIS JUNCTION, Md., May 4 /PRNewswire/ — PROTEUS Technologies, an industry leader in developing innovative software and systems engineering solutions for the Intelligence Community, Federal Executive Departments, and Commercial Industries, announced today that Mr. Michael W. Kauffman, Esquire, has joined PROTEUS as Vice President, Legal and Contracts. In this role, Mr. Kauffman will lead the Legal and Contracts Departments, focus on the strategic planning in the transition from a small business to a mid-tiered company, support the business growth of PROTEUS’ commercial practices and adjacent Intelligence Community (IC) markets, represent the company for all legal matters, and ensure company compliance with client specifications and requirements.

He has over ten years of IC experience and is well versed in the federal acquisition process, contract administration, business process development and standardization, government contracts law, the preservation and licensing of intellectual property, and employment law. His expertise also reaches into the Cyber Initiative, information operations and computer digital forensics, an area where he previously launched a business line.

Mike’s breadth of experience further includes over 12 years in private practice, most recently as a partner in national and regional law firms representing clients engaged with the United States and industry to provide systems development and integration, platforms, commodities and information technology services.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree from Hood College and a juris doctor degree from The Georgetown University Law Center, and pursued coursework in Leading Change and Organizational Renewal at the Harvard Business School. He served 4 years in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician in Sigonella, Sicily.
