MiCTA awards BT Conferencing its highest accolade

QUINCY, Mass., May 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — BT Conferencing, the conferencing and collaboration services division of BT, has been awarded national endorsed vendor status for the Video Integration Services contract by MiCTA, a national non-profit technology consortium. The contract will run through 2012 and provides BT with the highest recognition awarded by MiCTA.

MiCTA is an association of non-profit organizations, colleges, universities, K-12 schools systems, federal state and local governments. The contract allows BT to provide video, audio and web conferencing solutions and services to MiCTA members at competitive prices, thus relieving the costly and time-intensive request for proposal (RFP) process.

The RFP process was highly competitive and followed standard public procurement guidelines. BT was chosen by MiCTA based on its 20-year history of providing a complete conferencing portfolio that encompasses a wide range of video, audio and web conferencing solutions, along with product hardware. In addition, BT was able to satisfy MiCTA’s strict contract-award policies of fiscal reporting, customer references, broad geographical coverage, service offerings, breadth of product offering and overall customer value.

As part of its contract, BT Conferencing will be offering a wide range of products and services, including: direct equipment and services; custom video integration services; consulting and professional services; managed services; design services; programming services; video streaming; audio and web conferencing and a broad range of training.

Jeff Prestel, general manager of BT Conferencing’s Video Business Unit, said: “In today’s economic climate, all organizations need to make the most out of their resources. Our video conferencing offering is second to none when it comes to helping people collaborate; make decisions quickly and save time and money while still reducing a company’s carbon footprint. We are delighted that MiCTA has recognized this and we look forward to extending these benefits to its member organizations.”

MiCTA president, John Sundstrom, CIO-Emeritus of Grand Valley State University, said: “We’re pleased with the results, especially the quality of the vendor’s offerings — not to mention the pricing we’re able to provide.”

BT Conferencing customers receive best-of-class service that is backed by BT’s 24x7x365 assistance, along with industry leading service and support.
