DannyBrown.me on Why Virtual Stalking is a Real World Problem for Social Media

Posted on: Friday, 8 May 2009, 11:01 CDT

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, May 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Danny Brown, business and social media branding consultant, has published a feature that looks at the increasing threat of virtual stalking and how social media users are being affected.

The national press has previously reported examples of cyber bullying on popular social networks MySpace and Facebook resulting in teenage suicides. Now, with the rise in users of newer networks like Twitter, cyber bullies and stalkers are finding new and immediate victims.

In his feature, Brown highlights one particular example and questions whether social networks are doing enough to protect their users.
