Martin Dawes Analytics Continues Expansion Into Energy and Utilities Markets

Recognized Authority Edward Cuoco to Lead Company's Growth within These Industries

BOSTON, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Martin Dawes Analytics (MDA), a leading global data analytics software provider, today announced that Edward Cuoco has joined the Company as its Director of Energy and Utilities Markets, where he will accelerate business expansion into these domains. In this role, Mr. Cuoco will be responsible for the global management of all energy and utility initiatives, including business development, marketing and the ongoing delivery and development of Martin Dawes Analytics' service offerings and capabilities within this sector.

Energy and utility companies are undergoing significant changes in response to market and regulatory drivers including carbon-based energy volatility, utility market restructuring, SmartGrid technologies, and the current economic climate. These factors will impact many key operations due to the dramatic increase in both the volume and dependency on data to operate their businesses. For example, smart metering will drive more than a 50x increase in usage data, a critical component necessary to set Smart Grid rates, accurately bill customers, and understand the levers to manage demand. The combined changes are on top of existing operational challenges associated with data such as those in the energy trading, risk management, and wholesale/retail settlement.

Previously, Cuoco had spent more than 10 years working with Energy companies in both the United States and Europe, serving as Manager of Systems and Processes for Essent Energie's Merchant Energy Division and as a delivery lead in Sapient's Energy Practice.
