SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Speakers at the Virtual Edge Summit will share strategies, solutions and case studies surrounding the growing topic of ‘virtual’ and ‘hybrid, mixed events’ where meetings and conferences extend traditional physical in-person events with a compelling virtual online component.

“What is really unique about this event and helps demonstrate the significance of this trend to moving more events to virtual or mixed environments is not just the major companies that are participating but that organizations you wouldn’t expect like the US Travel Association will be presenting a session titled ‘Using Virtual Events to Drive Additional Revenue for Trade Shows,’ said Michael Doyle, General Manager and Executive Director of VirtualEdge.org, producers of the summit. “They realized that they needed to move forward and help the industry harness new methods and operate in a new economy.”

Virtual Edge Summit will be the First Event to Allow Attendees and Speakers to Participate In-Person or Virtually–Free.

To demonstrate the power of ‘hybrid’ meeting models, Virtual Edge Summit will be held in-person (at the Santa Clara Convention Center) and virtually at the virtual meeting environment VirtualU. There will be presentations from within virtual environments to the physical event such as IBM VP Sandy Carter who will be appearing live, in-world while Oracle VP Paul Salinger will be live on the stage at the Convention Center. ”
