Ekahau Introduces Wi-Fi Spectrum Analysis Tool for Site Survey Solution

RESTON, Virginia, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Ekahau Inc., a leading provider of Wi-Fi-based Real Time Location Systems (RTLS), today announced that it will be adding Wi-Fi (802.11 WLAN) spectrum analysis capabilities to the Ekahau Site Survey solution. The spectrum analyzer allows users to detect and visualize interference issues that cannot be detected with standard Wi-Fi adapters, such as wireless video cameras, cordless phones, radar, Bluetooth devices and microwave ovens that can impact network throughput and performance.

The new spectrum analysis tool is optimized for simultaneous operation with Ekahau Site Survey. The spectrum analysis functionality can be initiated from Ekahau Site Survey user interface when using Ekahau Site Survey version 4.5.9 or later.

The dual-band spectrum analyzer is able to analyze the 2.4 GHz frequency band, as well as the 5 GHz frequency space, which is becoming increasingly important with the new 802.11n WLAN standard.
