DALLAS, Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is increasing the sound in portable wireless applications with the introduction of the highest output power mono Class-AB audio amplifier in the market today. Ideal for applications such as cell phones, smart phones and PDAs, the TPA6211A1 also cuts board space and gives designers more flexibility. (See http://www.ti.com/sc03212 for more information.)
"The push toward more sound volume in the cellphone, smartphone and PDA market for applications such as hands-free talk-mode, surround sound music and gaming never seems to relent," said Nicholas Holland, product marketing for audio power amplifiers at Texas Instruments. "TI has just provided the next piece of the puzzle to enable these applications to get even louder."
The TPA6211A1 audio amplifier offers over 340mW of power per mm2, which is the highest output power Class-AB audio power amplifier for its size in the market. It is capable of delivering 3.1W of power into a 3ohm load at 10 percent THD (total harmonic distortion). The device comes in a board space saving 3x3mm QFN package and a 3x5mm MSOP package, providing OEMs, ODMs and subcontractors the manufacturing flexibility they need.
