May 26, 2009

Andrew Hout, Modulo’s Senior Project Manager, will show how a multinational financial institution can use the award winning IT GRC software Modulo Risk Manager(TM) to successfully implement Third Parties control

MONTCLAIR, N.J., May 26 /PRNewswire/ — During Shared Assessments Summit 2009, Andrew Hout, Modulo’s specialist in vendor risk management and one of BITS creator will be leading a lecture on a case study based on a multinational bank experience using Modulo Risk Manager(TM) to improve their diligence in selection, in contracting, and in supervision and monitoring third parties.

With over 25 years of experience in Information Technology, Andrew Hout was responsible for the integration of the Shared Assessments program into the Citi Service Provider assessment process and was the 2008 co-chair of the Shared Assessments program TDC (Technical Development Committee) along with Niall Brown of LiveOps and Eddie Holt with KPMG. He also worked at Paradyne and Citi where he managed a team of assessors who conducted due diligence reviews of vendors who render complex technical services for various Citi businesses.

In his speech, Andrew will use an example of a Japanese origin multinational financial institution, with US headquarters in New York City, to show how to effectively manage the information security due-diligence of third party vendors. There has been growing regulatory review all over the world as financial institutions increase the number and scope of these relationships and the number of breaches of these third parties has multiplied.

The event will take place at Hyatt Regency Chicago on May 27th and 28th, and will attract several experts in financial services security and vendor management, service providers, regulators, assessment firms and others. The current and biggest challenges faced by companies interested in maximizing their outsourcing program will be discussed, including issues regarding best practices for outsourcing during an economical period that is currently turbulent and constantly changing.
