Posted on: Wednesday, 27 May 2009, 19:38 CDT

SANTA ROSA, Calif., May 27 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time ever the Santa Rosa High School graduation will be available to view via live web-cast courtesy of Vista Broadband Networks and the Community Media Center of Santa Rosa. This gives friends and family members from across the nation and around the world the unique opportunity to watch this year's graduation ceremony live. Santa Rosa High School Principal, Jim Goddard saw a unique opportunity and approached CMC's Executive Director, Dan Villalva about the possibility of a live web-cast earlier this year.

The 2009 Santa Rosa High School graduation web-cast can be viewed live at the Community Media Center of Santa Rosa website www.communitymedia.org starting at 6pm on Friday May 29th, 2009. Also, a DVD of the graduation ceremony will be made available for sale. Copies may be ordered through the Santa Rosa High School business office at (707) 528-5385.

As a testament to the power of the Internet, provided by Vista Broadband, the CMC recently received an email commenting on its live web-stream of the 115th Annual Luther Burbank Rose Parade. Former Santa Rosa resident, Michael Wilson, noted that the web-stream of the parade provided a way to keep his family connected to Santa Rosa. He wrote, "It made my day. The chance of bringing a little bit of home while being 300 plus miles away was a delight." It was the perfect solution combining CMC's camera and production expertise with Vista's own vast high speed business quality broadband network.

This year's Santa Rosa High School graduation takes place at the Santa Rosa Junior College Bailey Field.
