Comsys Mobile and Rohde & Schwarz Deliver Optimized WiMAX/GSM-EDGE RF Calibration for Mass Production

Communication & Signal Processing Ltd and Rohde & Schwarz today announced
that they have jointly developed a customized test solution for RF
calibration offering customers the most cost-effective test solution for RF
testing, calibration and signal testing in devices incorporating Comsys
Mobile’s ComMAX(TM) CM1125 mobile WiMAX/GSM-EDGE modules.
This highly optimized solution is based on Rohde & Schwarz RF production
testers into which the ComMAX SoC testing scheme was ported and fully
optimised for automated testing.
The solution combines alignment and verification with maximum throughput
tests in a single box for production-line emulation of a base station. Test
engineers are able to quickly build a competitive test platform to test their
new designs, while manufacturers are able to automatically align
transmitter/receiver functions such as frequency response and linearity. This
enables quick ramp-up of the production line and maximum throughput.
For mobile WiMAX RF calibration, the R&S CMW270 was chosen. This is a
very fast one-box tester for the production and R&D of WiMAX mobile stations.
For GSM/EDGE RF calibration, the R&S CMU200 was used. This is a market
established mobile radio tester for production as well as R&D.

WiMAX/GSM-EDGE baseband processor features full mobility support, low power
operation and integrated support for legacy cellular networks. ComMAX CM1125
comes with a unique multimode handset reference design platform enabling
