IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 2003--
Strata CTX100-S Allows Users to Mix-and-Match IP, Digital, and
Analog Stations, Optional Toshiba Stratagy(R) Voice
Processing and Networking
Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba TSD) today announced the launch of its new Strata(R) CTX100-S digital business telephone system, which provides smaller system users with a robust, turnkey telecommunication system that supports up to 16 ports in a mix-and-match configuration of CO lines, IP, digital, and analog stations. The Strata CTX100-S is available with optional integrated Toshiba Stratagy Voice Processing and networking capabilities.
"With the new Strata CTX100-S, users have access to the same IP, networking, and voice processing capabilities available in Toshiba's larger solutions but in a system that's sized appropriately for them," said Michael E. Durance, vice president and general manager of Toshiba Telecommunication Systems Division. "As with all Toshiba systems, the Strata CTX100-S comes with the backing of Toshiba's reliable service and customer support, its extensive National Accounts program and the industry's only seven-year manufacturer's warranty."
Ability to Mix-and-Match Telephones Maximizes Capabilities and Cost Savings
The Toshiba Strata CTX100-S allows users to mix-and-match the types of telephones they use on the system, including analog, digital, and IP telephones. Strata CTX100-S is compatible with Toshiba's full line of 3000-series digital telephones, Toshiba's 2000-series digital telephones, and Toshiba's IPT1020-SD IP telephone. This allows the use of IP telephones where it makes sense, but does not lock them into IP for the entire system.
The IPT1020-SD IP telephone can be moved between locations at the enterprise or off-premises, such as at a home or remote office. When the IP telephone is used away from the enterprise premises, it retains all the features and functionalities, including showing the caller ID for the user's office phone number on outgoing calls.
IP Capabilities Cuts Long Distance Costs, Improves Customer Service
When used with Toshiba's IP1020-SD IP telephone, the Strata CTX100-S becomes a powerful IP telephony solution, allowing users to eliminate long-distance toll charges between the main office and any branch, remote, or home offices (where IP telephones are used at each location). It also reduces long distance charges for other calls by allowing voice and fax calls to be transmitted via the Internet or the company's private Intranet. Using Voice Over IP also allows application sharing across office locations, helping the user to enhance both cost effectiveness and customer service.
A Comprehensive Small System That Can Grow
The Toshiba Strata CTX100-S provides the small enterprise with comprehensive features and functionality that handle the needs of the most demanding users in a size and configuration that fits the scale of the business.
While its small size is designed to meet the long-term needs of a small business, the Strata CTX100-S also allows growth, up to 112 ports, matching the size of Toshiba's Strata CTX100.
"The Strata CTX100-S beats all the competitive offerings for the small enterprise," said Durance. "Its big system capabilities make it the perfect solution for a small business that plans to stay small, grow, or network with other offices. Its networking capabilities also make it an excellent choice for small remote offices."
Multiple System Networking Using Toshiba Strata Net
Utilizing Toshiba's Strata Net, a multi-system private networking application based on QSIG (an international standard for the interconnection of PBXs), users can network multiple Strata CTX systems in their choice of configurations, IP or PRI standard T1.
Using Strata Net, Strata CTX100-S can be networked with other Strata CTX100-S systems or with Toshiba's larger Strata CTX670 and/or CTX100 systems. Networking allows the Strata CTX systems to operate with a high level of transparency between the systems, enabling all the enterprise's offices to have the benefits of a centralized voice mail system, including centralized attendant service.
Centralized attendant service enables calls to all system nodes to be answered by a single attendant or attendant group, regardless of where the extensions or trunks are physically located. In addition, users need only dial "0" to reach the attendant, regardless of the network node on which they reside.
Networking also allows coordinated extension numbering, which simplifies network-wide dialing. This allows users to call each other across network nodes with simple network directory numbers and eliminates the need for access codes and network maps.
For remote offices, the Strata CTX100-S is also compatible with the MCK EXTender available from Toshiba, which enables groups of remote workers to have digital telephone extensions from the main location's Strata CTX telephone system, with the same functionality and features as the main office system.
Toshiba Stratagy Voice Processing for a Turnkey Solution
Strata CTX100-S packages can also be purchased with Toshiba Stratagy IVP8 Voice Processing for a completely integrated, turnkey business communication solution. Stratagy IVP8 provides economical system growth from two to eight voice processing ports and gives users the power to efficiently communicate internally and externally and manage incoming calls.
Stratagy IVP8 includes voice mail, auto attendant and other important call management capabilities, such as recording a call directly to a user's personal mailbox, which helps small enterprises improve their bottom line by ensuring that their employees don't miss calls, messages or opportunities. Toshiba's Stratagy IVP8 automated attendant answers and routes incoming calls 24/7. It also ensures that calls are efficiently managed when call volumes are high, before, during and after office hours. Stratagy voice mail allows callers to leave detailed messages for specific employees. Because the Stratagy IVP8 is fully integrated into the Strata CTX100-S system, the battery back-up option also supports the full functionality and operation of both systems for a complete communication solution.
Simple, Cost-Effective Upgrade Path to Strata CTX100
Although the Strata CTX100-S is designed specifically for users with a need for up to 16 ports, the system can easily be upgraded all the way up to the capacity of the Toshiba Strata CTX100, up to 112 ports. The modular architecture enables customers to expand by adding, not replacing, common equipment. For example, cost-effective growth from smallest to largest configurations can be achieved using the same processor and adding licenses and interface cards.
Pricing & Availability
End user system pricing for the Strata CTX100-S packages ranges from $210 to $460 per station, depending upon system configuration, options, and telephone models selected.
