Video game retailer innovates with first-of-its-kind iPhone application that delivers convenience and rich content

WILSONVILLE, Ore., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Everything consumers need to know about video games is now available with the touch of a finger. Today, national video game retailer Game Crazy announced a first-to-market video game app for use with Apple's iPhone and iPod touch that's designed to help users maximize their gaming dollars. The new app provides the same great attributes offered at Game Crazy stores - value, selection and expertise - by allowing consumers to browse detailed information on video games, watch exciting trailers, and receive new, used and trade-in pricing for games in just seconds.

"Our mission is to help consumers make the right game buying choices, whether they are an experienced gamer or purchasing a video game for the very first time," said Cliff Torng, chief marketing officer, Movie Gallery, Inc. and Game Crazy. "We are excited to be the first retailer to offer direct access to the latest information on video games to the on-the-go consumer. With this new iPhone app, we extend the Game Crazy experience into our customer's hands."

The Game Crazy app is designed for everyone - from the hard-core gamer looking for details on the upcoming new first-person shooter game, to the mom searching for a game the whole family can play over the weekend. The app includes a tool bar that makes it easy to navigate the three screens: Games, Stores and Settings. Users can:

  • Check out titles and trailers of all games including new releases and upcoming launches
  • Learn more about the titles including a brief summary of the game platform(s), release date, publisher, and ESRB rating
  • Discover up-to-the-minute pricing on new and used games, and track the latest trade-in values so they can time purchases to the best price
  • Punch up the closest Game Crazy stores so people can drop by and chat with knowledgeable employees, try games before they buy them, and shop the wide variety of new and used titles

"If you can keep track of your friends through social networks, pay your bills with mobile banking and listen to music all on your iPhone or iPod Touch - why not also browse the hottest new and upcoming video games?" said Torng.

The Game Crazy app is currently available for free from Apple's App Store and allows users to leverage the convenience they are accustomed to experiencing with iPhone and iPod touch devices.
