Kathmandu, 10 July: Air Nepal International is to start regular international flights from 24 July. The airline has acquired a Boeing 767-300 aircraft and preparations are being made to start services in three different sectors.
"Regular flights to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Doha and Dubai from Kathmandu will commence from 24 July," the airline's chief executive Pradip Raj Pandey told a press conference on Sunday [10 July]
The airline, which has received permission to start services to 10 sectors in different countries, says it will gradually expand its services.
According to a press release issued during the press conference, the airline will operate three flights a week to Bangkok from Kathmandu and Dubai via Doha. The airline will operate twice weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur. General Sales Agency (GSA) have also been appointed in all these destinations.
This will be the second Nepali private airline to operate international flights. At present Cosmic Air has regular services to India and Bangladesh.
The aircraft has been obtained on lease from Thailand's PB Air and has a capacity of 245 seats.
Pandey said the fares will be on par with other airlines which are currently servicing the sector at present. "The airlines has pursued a policy of providing better facilities, punctuality and winning the trust of the customers rather than providing competitive prices," he said.
