Video Convergence, the video surveillance products and integration services division of Cornet Technology, Inc. (CTI), announced the company has appointed Charles (Chuck) Merino to the position of vice president of business development for its Video Convergence division. In this role, Merino will be responsible for the development, oversight, and implementation of Video Convergence's business strategy and market alliances. Merino plans to strengthen the division's current position within the intelligent transportation systems (ITS) market, while exploring new markets for video surveillance and video distribution.

Merino brings to this position 20 years of network communications, managerial and business development experience in the ITS, video compression, closed circuit television (CCTV), and video conferencing industries. I am eager to build upon the Video Convergence division's already established reputation within the ITS industry and expand the division's offerings into new areas of video surveillance."

Merino is on the San Francisco Organizing committee for the 12th Annual World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Innovation Mobility Showcase Conference and a member of the Business Leadership Council committee for ITS America.
