Jul. 11--TOKYO -- Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. said Monday it will launch a nursing care service for the elderly through its broadband communication network, possibly this autumn.
The service is intended to help bar the elderly from becoming bedridden by giving video instructions through the firm's network, with which nursing care facilities and homes of the elderly are to be linked, it said.
The service, to be overseen by NTT East Corp., NTT West Corp. and NTT Communications Corp., will be offered by an NTT group nursing care unit, it said.
