UCLA Office of Media Relations Selects CisionPoint as Its On-Demand PR Software

Posted on: Thursday, 25 June 2009, 11:05 CDT

CHICAGO, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced that the Office of Media Relations of the University of California, Los Angeles, has chosen the award-winning CisionPoint on-demand public relations software platform to help manage its campaigns and activities.

UCLA is California's largest university, with an enrollment of nearly 38,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The 13 person media relations office is the main liaison between UCLA and the media. The University will use CisionPoint's world-class Bacon's Media Database for media research; integrated print, broadcast and online monitoring services; and Analytics to track and measure campaigns and ongoing news coverage.

"Now, more than ever, organizations need to understand how they are perceived and positioned by the media," said Carol Stogsdill, senior executive director of UCLA's Office of Media Relations. "CisionPoint will help us stay on top of what's being reported by the leading print and Internet outlets in the U.S., broadcast and cable networks, and key local television markets. It will enable us to be more responsive and effective in both day-to-day and longer-term tasks."

The Office of Media Relations produces the UCLA Newsroom and UCLA Today websites, manages communication on campus-wide issues, and directs media inquiries to UCLA's 11 professional schools and the College of Letters and Science. "We chose CisionPoint because it integrates media research with customizable monitoring options and analysis tools," Stogsdill said. "In addition, its integrated dashboard is designed to increase team productivity and reduce costs over the long run."

Cision works with the United States' most prominent academic institutions. In addition to UCLA, its clients include the ten largest (by enrollment) public universities, 12 of the 15 largest private colleges and universities, over 60 percent of the Ivy League schools, and 26 of the country's top 30 business schools (as ranked by BusinessWeek).
