Turkish Police Step Up Security Measures in Istanbul

Security measures have been stepped up at the subway and trolley stations in Istanbul. In addition to the uniformed and civilian police officials, dogs trained to detect explosives will also be stationed at critical points.
The security measures have been stepped up particularly at the subway and trolley stations with the establishment of special teams within the framework of the Rapid Reaction Police Department in Istanbul. In accordance with the new measures, dogs trained to detect explosives and mobile civilian police teams will provide security at the critical points. The special security teams that guard the subway entry points also intensified their security measures. Handbags and packages carried by the passengers are now checked with metal detectors.
