Netifice Delivers Industry's First Managed SSL VPN Service to Eliminate the Need for IPSec Clients

This new service provides users with four new features:

Netifice Managed SSL VPN incorporates Aventail's new Smart Tunneling technology to combine a Layer 3 tunnel with Layers 4 to 7 policy control. By integrating policy control with Layer 3 tunnels, Netifice is providing remote users with complete access to the applications they require while allowing the company to specify security controls for increased protection. This flexibility eliminates the need for IPSec clients.

The Netifice Remote Access Managed SSL VPN also features a new adaptive IP capability, which simplifies access by automatically resolving IP addressing and routing conflicts that might arise between the corporate network resources and the remote access user's environment.

The service's Bidirectional Tunnel Control secures all tunnel traffic in both directions, either from the user's device to the network application or any reverse connection from the corporate network back out to the end user. This allows interactive applications, such as VoIP and remote helpdesk support, where a system inside the network needs to push data to a system outside the network to operate over the VPN.

Lastly, Netifice Managed SSL VPN has added End Point Control support for the Firefox Browser for Windows and Linux as well as the Safari Browser for Macintosh providing users with easier and broader application access and allowing network administrators to set granular access policies based on the user's machine.
