FarStone Technology, Inc., developer of PC system recovery software and CD/DVD content replication solutions, today announced a partnership with Microgistix to deliver FarStone's RestoreIT(R) 6.5 and VirtualDrive(R) 9 software via Dell's Online Store.
Specializing in the delivery of software marketing solutions, Microgistix seeks software that will add value to established distribution channels. The software distribution agreement with FarStone calls for the company's RestoreIT 6.5 and VirtualDrive 9 software products to be individually packaged by Microgistix in DVD boxes.
"System recovery solutions and replication utilities are much sought after by consumers and businesses," said Stacy Grochowski, partner marketing manager at Microgistix.
Tom Fedro, vice president, sales and marketing for FarStone explains that Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is a growing class of software that provides consumers and businesses with a safety net to prevent data loss and enable system recovery. "RestoreIT is a compelling CDP solution that empowers PC users with affordable and easy Personal Disaster Recovery(TM), while VirtualDrive enables digital content replication and CD/DVD emulation. We believe these two offerings provide consumers and businesses with critical system recovery technology and other key utilities that add significant value to their PC user experience. We are very pleased with this partnership, and see it as a key distribution outlet."
Pricing and Availability
FarStone's RestoreIT 6.5 and VirtualDrive 9 are available at www.dell.com. Suggested retail price is $39.99 each.
About RestoreIT 6.5
FarStone's RestoreIT Personal Disaster Recovery(TM) software with Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is the best insurance policy against data loss and PC problems. RestoreIT's patented technology creates ongoing, complete and multiple incremental backup images of a user's entire PC. After a virus/pop-up/spyware attack, accidental file deletion/overwrite or complete system OS failure, users can simply click RestoreIT to instantly roll their system back to a point when everything was working properly.
Users can restore individual files or their entire system even if Windows(R) crashes and will not restart. RestoreIT creates backups to a hidden, protected partition below the operating system and can be launched immediately after power on. Users can also create a bootable Recover Disc to store their complete system backup on a CD or DVD set, so that in the event of a hard drive crash they can quickly and easily recover their entire system after replacing the drive.
About VirtualDrive 9
FarStone's VirtualDrive provides users with an easier way to access and manage their collection of CDs & DVDs. With the easy-to-use interface, users can simply create "virtual" images of their CDs & DVDs and store them all on their hard drive, then just click to load and play them on any one of up to 23 "virtual" CD/DVD drives that VirtualDrive can create on the hard drive. Users no longer have to find or carry and load their CD & DVD discs to play them, which saves their disc collection from handling damage. FarStone's patented RapidCache(TM) technology improves PC performance by reducing CD/DVD access times by up to 75 percent -- with zero disc spin up time. The Virtual Hard Drive feature emulates a hard disk drive in RAM, so users can store files and run programs at high speeds in non-swappable physical memory.
