PGP Corporation and immixGroup(R) Join Forces to Provide Data Protection Security to U.S. Government Customers

Posted on: Wednesday, 8 July 2009, 07:00 CDT

MENLO PARK, Calif., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- PGP Corporation, a global leader in enterprise data protection, today announced a strategic distribution agreement and marketing relationship with immixGroup, Inc., a leader in technology sales, government channel programs, and contract management services, to channel PGP Corporation's data protection solutions into the public sector. Initially targeting the federal market, this relationship enables PGP Corporation to significantly expand its federal channel strategy and market presence. Together, the two companies provide solutions that address one of the most pressing security threats facing federal government agencies today - the loss, theft or infiltration of critical intelligence and civilian data from government networks, systems and devices.

Federal and public sector agencies are increasingly reliant on people, devices and systems to manage sensitive, personal citizen data and intelligence information, but have not taken the appropriate measures to mitigate their overall risk posture. In fact, according to an article in the Wall Street Journal published on March 13, 2009, with the increasing concerns over the danger of cyber-attacks, the federal government has estimated it will spend between $15 and $30 billion on cybersecurity over the next five years.

Through this agreement, public sector agencies and customers have easier access to PGP Corporation's industry-leading encryption and data protection solutions -- which provide a holistic approach to protecting data at rest, data in use and data in motion. PGP(R) solutions are certified, validated and accredited to meet federal mandates, including FIPS 140-2, Common Criteria and assist agencies in meeting mandates such as FISMA and HSPD 12.

PGP Corporation will leverage immixGroup's expertise in the federal market to accelerate the demand for PGP(R) solutions and its growth in the public sector. With this new relationship, government value-added resellers and federal channel partners benefit from immixGroup's experience in go-to-market strategies and solutions targeted at the public sector, and now have access to immixGroup's GSA IT Schedule 70, NASA SEWP IV, and various State and Local Government contracts. In addition, immixGroup will support PGP Corporation and its federal channel partners by providing comprehensive demand generation, market intelligence, deal structure and renewal support services.

"PGP Corporation has a long legacy in both the private and public sector markets with a recognizable brand and reputation that is synonymous with encryption," said Art Richer, president of immixGroup, Inc. "We are excited to add PGP(R) solutions to our portfolio and address a critical need among all government and federal customers - to protect the sensitive personal data of our citizens and prevent valuable intelligence from falling into the wrong hands."

"With its deep experience and strong reputation in the federal market, we're excited about the opportunity to work with immixGroup to continue to grow our federal business," said Lee Finck, senior director of worldwide channels of PGP Corporation. "immixGroup's comprehensive set of services and its access to a variety of federal and state and local contract vehicles are critical to our aggressive federal growth strategy."

The PGP(R) Encryption Platform enables public sector and government agencies to meet a variety of data security challenges with an end-to-end solution for complete data protection that secures data from the endpoint all the way to the mainframe. With PGP(R) solutions, data security policies can be centrally managed and automated by application, as well as location no matter where the data resides. Additionally, PGP Corporation is the only commercial encryption software vendor to publish its source code, allowing end-users, government agencies and authorized vendors to provide peer review and feedback.
