Fuji to Provide Pay-Per-View Internet TV Service

Tokyo, July 12 (Jiji Press)--Fuji Television Network Inc. said Tuesday it will start a pay-per-view TV program distribution service via the Internet on Friday.
The major TV broadcaster will distribute programs via the Web sites of Internet access service providers such as Yahoo Japan Corp. .
Fuji TV plans to launch the service with the distribution of programs covering international volleyball matches. The broadcaster will charge 525 yen per program and 210 yen for other programs to be distributed later.
Among other Japanese TV broadcasters, Nippon Television Network Corp. has said it is considering a similar pay-per-view service. NTV's service is expected to start in October.END
