Pramana Introduces New and Innovative Web Security Platform Preventing Automated Attacks to Online Properties

July 16, 2009

ATLANTA, July 16 /PRNewswire/ — Pramana, Inc., announced today the release of its leading-edge HumanPresent(TM) online abuse and prevention solution with initial focus in four major markets, including financial services, online gaming & gambling, webmail and internet service providers, and social networking sites.

HumanPresent(TM) is a technology solution that establishes a transparent security framework allowing online enterprises to distinguish human communications from fraudulent bot or software-generated activity in real time. Both non-intrusive and invisible to the end-user, the solution verifies legitimate and desired Internet use and prevents and remediates fraudulent activity without any device dependence. HumanPresent(TM) also monitors and validates the entire user session from the beginning of a transaction to the end and defeats human CAPTCHA entry teams and other CAPTCHA breaking methods.

According to Pramana Chief Executive Officer, David Crowder, while the technology solution can be used by any business with any online presence, the company is focusing its initial efforts in markets that are highly susceptible to fraud from increasingly malicious botnets.

“Botnets have become exceptionally sophisticated and pervasive,” says Crowder, “and, our proactive solution is designed to constantly evolve and stay a step ahead of attacks. Our goal is to reduce fraud and abuse for our clients, so they can focus on their day-to-day operations and protect their business.”

Additionally, Gartner Research reported that, “Just examining a login or access to a website is not enough for companies that are subject to sophisticated fraud attacks, because these functions are increasingly easy for fraudsters to spoof.”

“Like all ISPs, we take security measures to reduce SPAM originating from our network,” says Julie Compann, CEO, ZCorum, who participated in Pramana’s early pilot program and now is a client. “Our standard solution, a CAPTCHA, requires additional information when logging into Webmail, which can be an annoyance to customers. Pramana’s HumanPresent(TM) technology offers an elegant security solution that is transparent to the end user and effective in stopping SPAM and automated account access.”

Conceived at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Computing, Pramana was founded in June 2007 and is headquartered in Alpharetta, Ga., with a development office in India. Pramana delivers the most powerful, comprehensive, device-independent security framework to prevent financial fraud and reputation hacking through its patent-pending, easy-to-deploy HumanPresent(TM) solution.
