Samsung Masters Micro Technology In Watch Phone
Samsung Electronics announced Wednesday that it has created the world's slimmest "watch phone."
The South Korean company said in a statement that the handset is .048 inches thick, compared to a model by LG electronics that is 0.54 inches thick.
The company is planning to sell the phone at about $639 in France at first, and then later move to other European markets.
The device has a 1.76-inch touch screen, in which users are able to check e-mails, play MP3s and make calls, according to Samsung. It also has Bluetooth function and voice recognition.
LG Electronics said that its version is going to go on sale no later than August.
