Palm Fights Back With Pre Update
Palm Inc. has stepped competition up a notch by making it’s new Palm Pre smartphone able to sync with Apple’s iTunes media management software.
This move by Palm comes after Apple closed a loophole in iTunes earlier this month that allowed the Pre to sync with iTunes. ITunes is designed to work with Apple’s iPod and iPhone products.
Palm said on Thursday that it has released an update to it’s WebOS software that allows the Pre to sync with iTunes.Â
Palm wrote in a blog post announcing the new update: "Oh, and one more thing: Palm webOS 1.1 re-enables Palm media sync. That’s right — you once again can have seamless access to your music, photos and videos from the current version of iTunes (8.2.1)."
The Palm Pre was released in June.
