3ality Digital to Showcase Integration of Visual Effects and Live-Action 3D at SIGGRAPH 2009′s Computer Animation Festival

BURBANK, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ — 3ality Digital LLC (www.3alitydigital.com) will illustrate the expanding creative possibilities of marrying computer-generated visual effects with live-action 3D this week at SIGGRAPH 2009′s Computer Animation Festival in New Orleans. The company will show footage from several of its projects that have set a new standard for incorporating VFX into 3D productions.

In its 36th year, the Computer Animation Festival is internationally renowned for presenting the world’s most innovative computer-generated projects in a variety of genres. Among the 3ality Digital projects being shown will be clips with effects from the concert film U2 3D, winner of the 2008 Visual Effects Society award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue, and Sobe’s “Lizard Lake” commercial, which blended computer-generated visual effects with live-action 3D for the first 3D commercial to air during a Super Bowl halftime.

Attendees also will see footage from NBC’s “Chuck vs. The Third Dimension,” the first episode of a scripted television series captured in live-action digital 3D. Each of the projects was shot and produced using 3ality Digital’s proprietary technology, which is widely recognized as the best in the world.
