BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ — Battle Creek Unlimited Board Chair Beth Cohen announced that two emerging businesses have established their base operations and staff in downtown Battle Creek. Both ‘corePHP’ and MessageCoach Public Relations also have been tapped to elevate communications for the revitalization of downtown Battle Creek.

The companies share offices on the second floor of the historic building at 62 E. Michigan Avenue. The building, near the site where the city was founded in 1859, has been carefully remodeled to host the new businesses while retaining the charm of years gone by. “It is especially gratifying that BCU staff were able to assist in locating these businesses in one of Battle Creek’s true historical buildings,” said Cohen.

“We are excited to move into our new downtown office which gives us a base for expansion of staff and services. The transformation plan convinced us Battle Creek is the ideal location for growth, and we are proud to be part of the downtown revitalization,” said Jonathan Shroyer, co-founder of ‘corePHP’ and Battle Creek native.

As strategic partners, ‘corePHP’ and MessageCoach will assist Battle Creek with a communications project to gather public input and inform people everywhere about such Battle Creek transformations, as emerging industries, entrepreneurial opportunities, education assets and progress of downtown development. With interpersonal and interactive communications specialties, the companies will implement web technology development, strategic planning, editorial services and message coaching for the community.

During the past two years, ‘corePHP’ and MessageCoach have been service providers to Battle Creek Unlimited and other local businesses for web development, communications technology and supplemental public relations projects. ‘corePHP’ grew out of BCU’s incubator and has become an award winning, fast growing communications technology company in Michigan.

“Our company is proof that Battle Creek is a supportive community for technology businesses. Without its help, we couldn’t have attracted so many clients, hired 10 local people and planned our future with meaningful work,” said Steven Pignataro, co-founder of ‘corePHP’ and Battle Creek native.

MessageCoach relocated its base from southeastern Michigan to Battle Creek and maintains in-state and national clients in technology, manufacturing, entrepreneurial and environmental sectors.

“They will help us to facilitate the key discussions to move our community forward. There are many people who support and believe in our city’s potential. The next two years will be critical for demonstrating commitment and success,” said Karl Dehn, president and chief executive officer of Battle Creek Unlimited.

The companies invite the public to provide views of Battle Creek’s downtown revitalization by posting comments on a dedicated Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/cerealcity. The company founders also will be introduced to the public by appearing on Battle Creek’s Access Vision’s program, “BCU Presents”, every Wednesday in August at 9:00 p.m.
