Pakistan Railways Confirm 130 Dead, 129 Injured in Train Crash

Ghotki, 13 July: Railway authorities said 130 passengers were so far confirmed to have died while 129 were injured in the train accident at Sarhad Railway Station near here on Wednesday [13 July].
The relief and rescue operation which was jointly conducted by the railway authorities, civil administration and Pakistan Army troops is still continuing.
Except 40 injured passengers being treated at Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo and CMH Pano Aqil hospitals, the rest have either been discharged, those of them critically injured were air lifted to Bahawalpur, Multan and Rawalpindi CMH hospitals.
President Gen Pervez Musharraf arrived at Ghotki in the afternoon and visited the accident site of Sarhad Railway Station, Besides, the president also inquired about the welfare of injured passengers at Ghotki Taluka Hospital and CMH Pano Aqil.
