Dataprise, Inc. Announces Partnership with Project Reboot to Provide Recycled PCs to Local Charities

August 17, 2009

ROCKVILLE, Md., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ — Dataprise, Inc. (http://www.dataprise.com), a Rockville-based leading information technology services provider and systems integrator, is pleased to announce its partnership with Project Reboot, a Washington, D.C.-area computer recycling program sponsored by The Capital PC User Group (CPCUG).

Project Reboot, (http://reboot.cpcug.org) a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, accepts old and unneeded computer equipment, makes any necessary repairs and upgrades and then delivers the refurbished devices to local charitable organizations. Dataprise encourages its clients to participate in the program, and over 100 PCs have already been donated. Additionally, Dataprise is providing manpower and expertise to assist Project Reboot volunteers.

“Dataprise is thrilled to partner with Project Reboot,” said David Eisner, president and CEO, Dataprise. “Our firm is dedicated to giving back to our community, and partnering with a great organization like Project Reboot allows Dataprise engineers to do what we do best while helping those in need.”

Dataprise’s certified network engineers volunteer their time to pick up unwanted computers, monitors and peripherals, wipe them clean, perform diagnostics, and make repairs and upgrades, preparing them for use. The donated computer equipment aids needy families, senior centers, religious organizations and other local charities. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

In addition to supporting the local community, a donation to Project Reboot supports green initiatives by reducing the amount of computer equipment tossed into local landfills. It is estimated that each week over 16 tons of computer equipment is dumped into Montgomery County landfills alone.*

“When the Capital PC User Group (CPCUG), Project Reboot’s umbrella organization, asked me to become the Project Reboot director in 1995, I hoped the organization would grow and prosper into the successful and fulfilling program it has become today,” said Gerry Rosenkrantz, Project Reboot Director. “We are grateful that Dataprise is supporting the Project Reboot mission. With the aid of its network engineers, Project Reboot is able to deliver nearly 300 computers each month to charitable organizations, public schools and low-income families throughout the community.”
