Jul. 14--TOKYO -- Google Inc. said Thursday it has added two free mapping services on its Japanese-language website giving business information, maps and satellite images of areas searched by users.
By typing key words, such as pizza, and the location to search, for example the nearby station name, on the Google Local website, users can find a list of corresponding facilities with their addresses, telephone numbers and maps, the major Internet search engine said.
Google Local is linked to Google Maps, the other new service in which users can easily zoom in on areas they want to see and move to other locations by dragging the pointer.
Maps provided by Google Maps can be converted into 3D aerial-photo images.
